OOTD Mixing it Up

7 Apr

I just love mixing textures up and think this striped navy/white Topshop dress adds a lovely naughtical touch to my layered spring outfit.

This H&M chunky cardigan with its big black buttons is one of the most worn items from my wardrobe. Layering knitwear with new spring pieces is essential in the UK where spring often feels like an extension of winter. The lightweight rain mac was a steal from Primark and I’m living in these Topshop gum soled lace-ups at the moment.

I’m still in love with the haircut my lovely hairdresser Chloe at Voodou Liverpool gave me and loving the fact that I’ve finally got my natural root back, bring on summer and lemon juice highlights!

NYE Looks

30 Dec

It’s New Years Eve tomorrow and somehow the passing of the old year always feels significant. Some will be wanting to move on, forget the troubles of 2014 and some will never want it to end, treasuring their own special moments. Whether you’re saying farewell to 2014, welcoming 2015 with open arms or both… I hope you have a wonderful evening and look fabulous too!

Here’s a couple of ideas for pared-back party looks.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/8e0/39497198/files/2014/12/img_3435.jpgGo alternative flapper style with a sparkly head piece, a dark lip brings this look bang up to date with some strategic back combing for that Carrie Bradshaw edge.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/8e0/39497198/files/2014/12/img_3436.jpg Be proud of your face and head to your soirée with a natural look, guaranteed to get second glances for all good reasons. Just make sure you use a foundation with good coverage and that eyebrows are groomed, pop on some statement jewellery and you’re set.

Happy New Year & thank you for being part of my 2014.

Almost January Sale Shopping

29 Dec

I tried to avoid the crazy atmosphere of Liverpool City Centre in the midst of a sale hurricane but it seemed quiet after work tonight so I braved a couple of shops.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/8e0/39497198/files/2014/12/img_3129.jpg This stylish mac from high street bargain heaven Primark was reduced from £28 to £10 and will make a perfect trans-seasonal jacket come spring. I adore the buttoned epaulets with pink piping.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/8e0/39497198/files/2014/12/img_3135.jpg I also picked up a houndstooth skirt in Primark marked down from £10 to £3, it will look great with a black turtle neck jumper.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/8e0/39497198/files/2014/12/img_3127.jpg To finish off my sale shopping I headed to Forever 21 and got this lovely little skirt with nice pocket detailing that was £7.99 (originally £13.50).

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/8e0/39497198/files/2014/12/img_3128.jpg Very pleased with my sale purchases and happy I saved over £30!

I’ve Got a Thing About Knits

16 Dec

I think I’m addicted to knitwear, especially turtle neck jumpers. They are taking over my wardrobe one purchase at a time.

Fell in love with this thigh split chunky number from fast, inexpensive, fashion experts Primark for £12.

23 Nov

It was a very cold day in Liverpool today and so I layered up to stop the chill.

Black jeans are my current fav and this pair were really cheap from Primark, they’re a great fit. These Vans shoes are pretty much the only leopard print you’ll find in my wardrobe as I tend to stay away from this over-done pattern on clothing.
I have had this Zara coat for ages now but it’s such a classic colour and shape that it always fits my outfits. The big H&M is great for shopping days, I’m in love with my grey Zara jumper and the denim shirt adds a little contrast and was from Primark.

OOTD Denim & Knit

15 Nov

I felt like giving my mid-week work attire a bit of a casual twist with a bit of denim this week. I teamed my Primark knitted navy v-neck jumper with a H&M faded denim shirt and black bandage skirt (also H&M).
The outfit felt neat enough for the office, which is quite relaxed on clothing anyway and a little bit preppy which I love.

Natural makeup and nails in a dark maroon Topshop varnish and I was ready to go!

Hello November

1 Nov

Some people love basking in the sun’s hot rays all summer long, praying that the cold weather doesn’t come around again too soon and spending all winter wishing to be back in their sandals with bright cheery toenail polish on.
I’m not one of these people, I like summer with its balmy nights and relaxed vibe but at heart I am most definitely a winter girl. As well as chunky knits, boots and cosy scarves comes my favourite wardrobe addition, which is simply unnecessary in summer and it is The Winter Coat.
I have so many coats I lose count and I just bought another! I was browsing through Instagram as I so often do and saw a beautiful, soft, winter white wonder. I fell in love. I commented, found out where the gorgeous girl in the pic got it and off I went to H&M.

I couldn’t believe this outfit transforming coat was £34.99, the fabric is really soft felt and it’s so wonderfully warm and cosy. So perfect for dry, crisp November days.
I could hardly wait to wear it and put it on today for breakfast in town.

Worn with ‘Black Coffee Please’ Pull and Bear sweater, plaid Primark skater dress and simple black tights & shoes.

I used my Benefit They’re Real! Push Up Liner to create a little definition under my eye and wore my hair down with a natural wave.

I can’t wait for the weather to get even colder so I can wear a big scarf with this coat and feel all warm. I might even make a sewing pattern from it and make myself one in different colours!

Treasures New & Old

27 Oct

A Saturday spent in the countryside in a small town called Ironbridge meant a trip to a second hand book shop. I adore whiling away the time searching for old treasures and this time came home with a couple of great ones.

I can’t wait to start reading Daphne Du Maurier’s Frenchman’s Creek and Hotel Berlin by Vicki Baum.

After returning to Liverpool I had a short look around the shops on Sunday and picked up this lovely, oversized, envelope clutch from Primark for just £3!

With the opening of the newly improved Zara Liverpool I was able to buy a replacement handbag perfume after using one bottle up entirely, this is Zara Rose and costs £7.99 for 50ml. Using this as one of my daily scents means I can save my special fragrances for memorable occasions.

The pencil was a gift from my lovely best friend and has the Sex and the City quote ‘this love stuff is a motherfucker’. My best friend knows that I have the ability to pluck a Sex and the City quote from my mind to fit almost any situation and this is certainly one I see myself using a lot!

Finally I’ve included a bottle of Topshop nail varnish in ‘Middle Child’, my sister gave me this in my birthday. I am the middle of three girls so it’s perfect and I just love the amazing colour!

Under The Sea

26 Aug

I think I may have an addiction to Navy blue and in particular this River Island sheer maxi skirt. The colour makes almost any tee look just a little bit more classy whilst the paper-bag waist keeps the look casual, it is my go-to wardrobe piece for sunny days and sandals.

Teamed with this sea-green blouse from good old Primark the whole outfit is very marine like so I teamed it with this sharp toothy necklace and black bondage strap sandals (just for that sexy mermaid touch!).

Sheer Maxi (River Island)

Blouse (Primark)

Shoes (Dorothy Perkins)
