House of Holland at Urban Outfitters

13 Sep

Welcome to the wacky cartoon, pop art inspired world that is the House of Holland, I’m loving the bright new collection which can be found at Urban Outfitters now.

On-trend prints of houndstooth and zig-zags teamed with the brightest colours are straight out of an eighties comic, teamed with mod details and more than a nod to rave culture these pieces are definitely made for hard partying.

If you’re not quite brave enough for the outrageous nipple pinching tee then go for the funky spike tights or a fierce wrist cuff.

Jersey Stripe Tennis Dress £195

Spike Suspender Tights £12

Striped Pinch Tee £65

Pyramid Cuff £91

Long Sleeved Zig-Zag Dress £110.00

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Does Lingerie

12 Sep

When I heard the super-sexy Rosie Huntington-Whiteley would be collaborating with high street giant Marks & Spencer to produce a range of lingerie I was beyond excited to see the results. I’m happy to report that I was not dissapointed, the beautiful underwear sets have got a kind of vintage look, all delicate lace and silky satin in the softest pastel hues.

My favourites are the French-Designed rose lace bra & knickers in this gorgeous green and the silk printed kimono which is just so elegant.

Marc Jacobs Ready To Wear Autumn/Winter 2012

9 Sep

Huge hats, luxurious layers, fluffy fur, chunky wool, leather, velvet and a whole lot of dazzling prints… it was all there and more at the Marc Jacobs ready-to-wear show. So the hats were extreme and eye-catching being so over-sized but once you look past the hats to the clothes you see there is an eccentric vaudevillian renaissance going on and I can’t help but want to be involved.

Pass me the kohl, I’m climbing aboard Marc Jacobs steam engine and I ain’t taking off my huge hat for nobody (well unless I struggle getting through the door that is!).

The collection is on Net-A-Porter and there a a few pieces my wealthy imagination has cast it’s lustful eye on!

Paisley-Print Silk-Twill Dress £960

Duchess Silk-Satin Dress £1490

I am utterly in love with this lamé jacket from The Kooples! You’d be forgiven for thinking that a jacket like this would not be the most practical of pieces but I really do think a bit of imagination will have you wearing this stunning blazer all over town.

The Season of the Coat

3 Sep

I like summer when it’s really warm and walking around with bare arms and legs leaves everybody feeling just that little bit more relaxed, you know you’re only on your lunch hour but a patch of grass and a lolly-ice seems completely rational.

As much as I love summer, here in Great Britain the summer isn’t really that great and most days the patch of grass is wet and a bowl of soup seems like a better idea than frozen treats. I think that is why I have an undying affection for the first chill of autumn and the wonderfully bitter few months when I get to wear my favorite wardrobe item…the coat.

A good coat has the ability to make an outfit, it is not a tool only for warmth but just another way to conquer whatever look it is you want to achieve. There are expensive investment coats that are so classic and stylish they will last your whole life then there are fast-fashion high-street coats that are inexpensive and always bang on trend so this coming autumn/winter there really is no need to be left out in the cold.

Here is my lust have list.

Lisa Wool + Cashmere-Blend Felt Coat (Joseph) £545

Valence Coat Navy (Hobbs) £329

Mohair Boyfriend Coat (Topshop) £89

Velvet Fur Coat (Pins & Needles for Urban Outfitters) £125

Hooded Wool-Felt Jacket (Marni) £720

Coat with Appliques on the Sleeve (Zara) £129

Fantasy Fabric Coat (Zara) £99.99

Wrap up in something gorgeous this winter!
