Louise Gray for Topshop

28 Aug

Okay so Louise Grays collection for Topshop kind of looks like a cross between a five year-olds craft box and a Drag artistes dressing room…who’s saying that’s a bad thing?! I say it’s high time we all had a bit more sparkle in our fashionable lives and If you want to try a little (perhaps a shimmering eyeshadow) or a lot (full on head-to-toe sequins) then this collection has something for you!

Here are my favorite items, dying to get my hands on that beautiful make-up brush set with the ever so chic mint green handles.

Louis Vuitton Collaboration with Yayoi Kusama

27 Aug

Louis Vuitton have collaborated with pop artist Yayoi Kusama and will be supporting her exhibition at the Tate Modern London Until 5th June, In homage to Kusama’s work over the past six decades Marc Jacobs has created a ready-to-wear collection inspired by her legendary polka dots. The collection is on show in the Louis Vuitton pop-up store in Selfridges London along with miniature figures of the artist herself.

Step into the kaleidoscopic world of dots to see the ready-to-wear collection created by Marc Jacobs and let your fashion imagination be carried away!

Wonderful little preppy collars and patent leather accessories are just what the fashion doctor ordered and to name a dress after an Italian artist it has to be impressive! Here is my hit list for Hobbs.

Under The Sea

26 Aug

I think I may have an addiction to Navy blue and in particular this River Island sheer maxi skirt. The colour makes almost any tee look just a little bit more classy whilst the paper-bag waist keeps the look casual, it is my go-to wardrobe piece for sunny days and sandals.

Teamed with this sea-green blouse from good old Primark the whole outfit is very marine like so I teamed it with this sharp toothy necklace and black bondage strap sandals (just for that sexy mermaid touch!).

The Row

24 Aug

There must have been a time when Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen thought they would never shake their child-star reputations, but looking at the formidable twosome today I only think of supreme style. They never follow the trends at red-carpet events and always wear unexpected outfits, sometimes I think they seem almost French… they have that timeless elegance.

Could the beautiful tailored collections for their own label The Row be any more perfect? Stunningly chic straight-leg trousers, wonderfully light-as-a-feather blouses and an attention to detail that will stand the test of time. A fashionable lady could have been carrying one of their snakeskin bags in their carefully manicured hands in the 1950’s and the same handbag could be seen in the hands of their great-great grand daughters in years to come. I wish I had the budget to snap up every item in their collection on net-a-porter (big sigh), here are my favorites.

Metal-Framed Lizard Clutch £4,150

Norick Leather Pencil Skirt £1,470

Hardigan Paneled Cotton & Silk-Blend Pants £1,080

Classic Lizard Bag £3,680

Lana Crepe Straight-Leg Pants £565

Twin Leather & Suede Laptop Tote £2,500

Thornbury Silk-Crepe Shirt £445

Garrett Hedlund & Kristen Stewart Jalouse Magazine

23 Aug

On The Road is due to be released in UK cinemas in September and two of its stars Kristen Stewart and Garrett Hedlund headed to France for a shoot with Jalouse magazine to promote the film in May. The result is moody and dark in a youthful rebellion sense and the sexual chemistry between these two good-looking stars is sizzling, can’t wait for the movie.

I adore the styling in this shoot, Kristen looks young and funky in her white preppy shirt, blazer and tiny leather skirt.

Festival Fashion

22 Aug

What to wear to a (possibly rainy & muddy) festival requires a lot of pre-planning and a sudden change in the Great British weather can quickly ruin your carefully considered ensemble so imagine being photographed and pasted all over magazines!

Soapstars in wellies, denim short shorts and parkas are sooo letting the side down. Perhaps a blast from festival past is required, back to home-made tie-dye, bell bottoms and pocahontas plaits, peace.

Woodstock

V-Festival 2012 fashion moment goes to the very lovely Billie Piper who captured the laid-back vibe without looking too styled for the cameras, beautifully relaxed in her pyjama style jumpsuit and loose wavy hair.

Taking inspiration from Bille Pipers pyjama style and old pictures of Woodstock here is what I would wear to a festival (teamed with crossed fingers hoping for sun!).

Printed Satin Trousers £29.99 (Zara)

Daisy Bead Cami £36 (Topshop)

Suede Ankle Boots £145 (Ash Jalouse for ASOS)
